Fallout 4’s Pip-Boy minigames include some utter classics, and yet almost nobody ever seems to talk about them, so let’s take a moment to look at Vault-Tec’s versions of some of the most important parts of gaming history…

Game
of all the things that Fallout New Vegas doesnt have even with mods, and this is one i wish did, absolutely genius.
26:50 That is the Saint Louis arch I believe. Utterly fascinating bit of architecture that nobody knows about because one who cares about Missouri and two I’ve been on that damn elevator to the top, it’s loud, uncomfortable, and has tiny windows at the top. Big Ben all the way, I wish America’s most well known landmark was a giant fucking clock. That’s the best thing ever.
I don't think there's anyone alive who doesn't know space invaders got faster because there was less to render. It's such common knowledge yet still people spew it out whenever it's mentioned. It's like the cops in GTA, everyone knows.
Tbh they should make the grognak game a mobile game that's longer
If you use the pip-boy app and connect to your game with it you can actually play the minigames on your phone wherever you want when on offline mode
Zeta Invaders is NOT based off of Asteroids.
"Big President Heads"
Oh, c'mon Jon. Everyone knows it's called Big Ben & Pals, after the twenty-third president Benjamin Franklin.
Notice that how the Seattle tower and Empire State logos look in atomic command aren't how they should look
Shooting up through your own base is how you beat space invaders
is this a mod if not then omg how have i missed them lol 8 days of me playing the game (thats how much time i spent) and not ones have i seen one of them
Baaaacooooon! I missed you!!
It's the Saint Louis Arch. The Gateway to the West and the official start of the Oregon Trail.
You know, if they remastered New Vegas, but added some new things to make it sparkle, it would probably make game of the year.
The reason Space Invaders was so hard on the last ship is because the original game used a lot of memory to run, therefore, as the ships were destroyed, the system was able to run it faster. They did an okay job emulating that with the last ship, but the rest of it could be a little faster lol
There's actually another mini game in automatron, in the rust devil place there's a terminal called "gaming PC" it has a holotape game in it
Automatron? An Automatic Matron?
the thing with the arch at 27:23 is the St Louis arch
I'm actually really excited to see the full play through if Grognak and the Ruby Ruins bc it's personally my favorite of the pipboy games
Jon when will you be doing fallout 4 YOLO?
If you have a smart device and you download the pip-boy app, you can play these on your phone. Really nice games to play whilst on the loo, I won't lie 😉
32:35 clearly Jon hasn't played D&D, getting back up after a fight? Poppycock!
Are you zoomed on the pip boy for the games, Jon?
Jon, you probably already recorded the next episode but if you haven't, could you please press the "back" button on your controller to zoom the screen further in on the pipboy? It would make watching this easier – it's tough to read the Grognak text. If you forgot/didn't know this feature exists then I understand, I only discovered it recently.
The NES version of Donkey Kong removed the 2nd level (50m), which has cement pans not pies. This version removes the 3rd level. (75m)
I like how you can see the player character pushing buttons as they are playing, nice touch
Jon, are you unable to upload your videos in 60fps?
In the next video play it on a terminal so the screen is bigger
fallout 4 kill everything and kill nothing, yolo?
I'm not for certain but in the PS4 version of Fallout 4 you can make the pipboy fullscreen so maybe do that in the next video if you can?
Not sure what the controller button is but you can zoom in on the pip boy with a right click (might be a single left click too idk off hand) on the screen itself. Then it's almost like playing this on full screen.
Is the New Vegas sprite in Atomic Command the only nod to FNV in Fallout 4?
Can please do a throwable only run of fallout new vegas
Fun Fact:
Space invaders going faster was initially a bug, but became a feature. Kinda like how Bethesda works
you keep saying flip and it Fucking annoys me
Grognak and the Ruby Ruins reminds me, fondly, of the earlier versions of the Ultima series. Missing my childhood.
you're terrible
You're so ugly even good neighbor won't accept you
Hi jon
I built a gaming computer in my Sanctuary house. Surrounded it with games and empty bottles.
in future where fallout 4 is considered a dinosaur of games(means:old as fuck)
what would people think of thees mini games?
they might think this was the original and not the actual originals.
that building with the halo i think was st. Louis
I still have my Atari 2600 and Missile Command is one of my favorite games
really you thought 75m was the 4th level xD lol it gos 25 (1st), 50 (2nd), 75 (3rd) and then 100 (4th). but you say before you started playing that the game was changed to avoid copyright then complains about the game not keeping springs in the game to keep it the same, then wonders why they didn't keep it 5 mins later.
@39:00 Yay! There will be more of this sort of thing, I wasn't expecting that.
Tip for Grognak and the Ruby Ruins, do everything before taking on the minny bosses.
I took the thief, Bloopo and the tank, Marla. Bloopo's ability does damage over time.
I played Grognak for about 3 hours straight to completion when I first got it in Goodneighbor. A pretty great minigame.
When you do make a full video about that Grognak game, could you play it on a terminal? Or at least zoom in on the pip boy? It would be more enjoyable to watch if it was on a bigger screen IMO.
