Pharaoh ► Mission 13 Meidum – [1080p Widescreen] – Let's Play Game

Welcome to the Old Kingdom dynasty and my 1 video per mission Pharaoh playthrough! WIDESCREEN and 1080p!
Meidum play time: 2h 58m (Hard Difficulty)
Full playlist:

I’ve decided to finish games I never managed to from my childhood! Now I’m on Pharaoh, another city-building game developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra Entertainment in 1999, that has incredibly tough later levels.

All missions will be cut shorter; I’m not trying to upload as many videos as I can.

Bought from so it runs on Windows 7 64bit

An IMPROVED widescreen fix has been made by Crudelios! :

Old widescreen fixer if that doesn’t work :
Use the Cleopatra fix if you have the expansion, otherwise get the normal Pharaoh one.

  • How are you getting papyrus to your schools without any road connection to your storage yard? Coronavirus lockdown brought me back to this game and I forgot how much I love it!

  • I watched your playthrough and I'm playing myself now c:
I had a beautiful city of 5,5k people, 80k in the bank. All was going good, until a bug appeared: market ladies did not go to restock on food. And everything devolved 🙁 nothing helped, so I loaded a previous save. During a run from a reload, bug has not appeared, but I suddenly was short on 800 employees, despite having spacious manors.

    And I just want to play a game ;-;

  • there may be differences between historians, but most of them dedicate the meidum pyramid to Snofru, not Huni. yes, it leaves Huni without a prestigious tomb, but whatever. and Meidum was always a cenotaph, aka an empty tomb.
Sofru was busy with other pyramids and they will be erected in next missions. and then the story moves to sofru's son khefu and let us raise stones up to the heaven to build the most monumental of its kind.

  • I'm doing this mission currently and i started developing in the top right corner. It was a bit squashed but I was able to get loads of food there, plus papyrus and wood, and get my econmic engine going.

then i went to the left and started building my pottery industry, and stockpiling gems and flax (to expand into linen and luxury good production later) and also started looking to place my brick industry, because I have clay and straw, and i don't need bricks, so more money and a way to occupy my people.

Then the Libyans invaded from the top right and wiped everything out there.

Interestingly, i had so much grain etc stockpiled on the left that they've actually kind of done me a favour, counterintuitively, because they cleared the whole area, so I could rebuild there without trying to fit in a housing block, i.e. just make it Industry and put my forts there.

I am assuming that's the only place the Libyans spawn from?

I mean, I can ferry workers across to cut wood and gather papyrus, and keep the papyrus etc makers on the left, and just use the right for those juicy fertile plains.

  • Every time I start on the large pyramid, after one or two layers of stone, they leave one portion empty in the middle of the layer, and construction stops because they can't reach. Has anyone else had this glitch happen to them? Really frustrating

  • I always played where I never let my industry mix. I also never placed buildings around the houses as it makes the houses undesirable, so I continued to just place them on the out skirts. one road, one neighborhood. but I would have multiple neighborhoods. I would also build things when I believed that I needed it.

  • Hey there @GamerZakh I been loving the series thus far. I mean it. Just wanted to chime in and wish a great 2017 and all the best moving forward. A real big thanx for making this series. I love Egypt and this game seemed like an awesome way of learning a little more about this ancient civilization which gave us so much in the way of history. @GamerZakh you're one of a kind!

  • Smarter way of defending your people and territory is actually ancient and it's building defense structures – Walls and towers without getting your soldiers being killed. Also, you can build a Festival Square and place some God's statues instead of building 10-12 temples per God.

  • wow…you really don't understand how to use religion in this game…I mean, this is your fatal flaw. Why do you ignore the festival square?

Also, always use the flood plains for food.

Also what mod did you do to get widescreen? I have a hdtv I could throw onto my display.

  • I would avoid using meadow farms here. Meidum is blessed with lush, huge floodplains, while the meadows are kind of weak.

Andrew Wang July 8, 2020 7:41 pm Reply
  • It's not worth it to sell reeds when you can sell papyrus. Cities send limited number of caravanes per year so they have limited amount of goods that that can buy (800 per caravane). If you sell reeds and papyrus at the same time the caravanes will chose randomly reeds or papyrus (it not possible to set priority for papyrus). So each unit of Reeds you sell is a unit of papyrus you will not sell. And you will be losing money.
be sure first that you sell the maximum quantity of papyrus per year before maybe start thinking of selling the raw material for it
