The Nintendo GameCube was released in 2001 and was considered a failure with only 20 million units sold. We revisit the Nintendo GameCube, look at some of its innovations, perform some mods to the device to open up some cool new features, and show you what makes the Nintendo GameCube still awesome in 2019.

What a great ending for 2018 🙂 Thank you
YES it awesome and so is the n64 ^_^
Sixth gen is my favourite Dreamcast Xbox Original and GameCube are my fav systems PS2 overrated (in my opinion) early games were better than late (again my opinion) for the system.
I forgot all about the GameCube
I had a gc from day 1 and always told everyone how awesome it is.
In Australia we don't say soddering. It's the Yanks that think the "l" is silent. We say soldering.
Eternal Darkness ♥️
The Gamecube is fucking sexy, of course only the black version. Thanks to the bracket, you can also use the console as a weapon. 🧐
PS2 also can use component cables. Using in GT4 you can run the game in 1080i
Still have my cube hooked up and am one of the lucky few to have the digital component cable. I'm close to finishing collecting for it, but I've enjoyed the console since launch…
At a modchip site many years ago , was a hardware mod that turned your GameCube into an optional DVD player too .
Gamecube was/ amazing console. The sales were not the whole story, i hate how people use the simple numbers as a way to justify weather this was a good console or not. The memories, the first portable friendly system and wireless controllers that hold up till this day.
My logitec ps2 controller barely works now so i just use the wired ones for it and the xbox but wavebird?? still going strong.
From 2017 until last week, I was using a ZXP Pro 3.0 HDMI adapter. (A newer version of the one that infamously fried a Gamecube when a drunk person tripped on a controller cord and pulled it off the table.) The version I had used a different connector so this wouldn't happen. But about a week ago, one of the pins on the HDMI port (mini-HDMI) broke and caused the blue to drop out intermittently, making it unuseable. I currently have a mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter plugged into it in such a way that it works…it's not super reliable but I'm going to give it to a friend that has a Gamecube. I thought about soldering on a new mini-HDMI port but I don't really have the equipment necessary to solder such small things. So I decided to just get a Carby to replace it (newer version of GC Video, better built in general…2017 was really the origin point for these devices and the ones from back then were much more "hacked together"). The Carby works great…there really isn't much visual difference from my original adapter (maybe SLIGHTLY clearer but that could just be placebo effect), but it is MUCH more solidly built. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this adapter to anyone that wants an HDMI adapter for the DOL-001 console, it's definitely the best one out there. The EON one works, there isn't anything wrong with it, but it is much bulkier (unnecessarily so) and more expensive for basically no reason. https://insurrectionindustries.com/product/carby-v2/
i think the gamecube is the wiiU of the switch. Just not as severe of course, and the controller was awesome.
That N64 logo on your t-shirt made me step back from my screen.
So nobody's gonna talk about the stunning graphics for a 2001 game console? I mean i can easily play this console even with the today's graphic standars and still feel awesome.
video game system: is older than 5 years old
mvg: H A C K I T
Oh the things you can do with a chipped game cube. Even have sex with it 😌
I'm currently playing Animal Crossing on Gamecube and SSBM over my copy of New Horizons and SSMU. That goes to show you how highly I think of the Gamecube and its games.
My 1st home computer was a 2nd hand zx81 – would you be offended if I asked if you have been approached by the likes of Nintendo or Sony etc ? Your knowledge of home computers and consoles is awesome. I recognise your true absolute raw love for these machines. Including your own version of doom. I believe that once you purchase the hardware it belongs to you. Please continue your great work
saying it was easily beaten by sony is one thing, but microsoft uhh it had like 3 million units more than the gamecube only lmao
Surprised you didn’t replace the clock battery when you were adding the leds to the controller ports.
I still play my game cube today. All the time. Love it
They need to remaster all gamcube games and create a gamecube remastered
thinking of getting a gamecube for a couple games i want to play
Sorry the GameCube was a joke an insult to gamers who spent hard earned money for a next gen experience. Dreamcast destroyed it easily. N64 was far more advanced and a generational leap.
Is it possible to play gameboy without the GameBoy Player adapter?
the rock music threw me off you usually put synth stuff
I just ordered a soldering kit the other day… I'm 46 years old,,I'm ready just to try things I've ever done and I think I can do it and I've been watching a lot of these channels where people take apart really is very interesting… Anyways I want to start.. are there any good tips pros could throw towards me
One further plus: The GCN controller is still one of the most comfortable and ergonomic controllers I have ever used. They fit my babby hands perfectly, although perhaps they should have released some slightly bigger models for bigger-handed people. My only complaint with the controller is that the thumbstick cap should have used a softer and thicker rubber, but even then it was still better than the N64's nightmarish thumbstick.
GameCube had some fire graphics
r/suddenlycommunist
I want one. I already have n64 and wii. there's some games would like to play
Still use mine playing though sonic riders rn
WaveBird is the best controller ever in my opinion .
Although most people wouldn’t agree, the Nintendo GameCube was the most powerful console from generation 6. Yes, even more powerful than the OG Xbox. SW Rogue Squadron 2 hits more than 20 million polygons per second and Metroid Prime 1 and 2 go up to 33 million. Halo goes up to 16 million polygons a second.
2:55 I expected to see a man strolling in an ancient battlefield like on the history Channel.
I had a GameCube, I've always been a Sega person. While it wasn't my favorite console, Eternal Darkness, Timesplitters, and Zelda the Wind Waker will always be great gaming memories for me.
4 month pass and no lucky winner of the nintendo
you got me. I was taken in by your misleading title. you praised the Gamecube only to trick people into watching a mod video.
still holds up
where can we find this music?
Why bother when the D-pad sucks and it's way easier to mod a Wii, which is backwards compatible with almost everything (except maybe that GBA attachment you put under the box)?
What is the model of the dell monitor that you use? Is there any special stuff to make it work on consoles?
